Do You Want Diecast Derby to Attend Your Event? YES!
We use Diecast Derby in two different ways - but both add up to a big bonus for your event!
Many organizations rent out our services for an event, and participation is free for everyone at that
event. The organization or sponsors pay us, and the kids get to race as much as they want. Every
winner gets a small prize, which is included in our fee.
Many organizations also want to have trophy races. The only additional cost associated with this is
the cost of the trophies. The kids love it! If you want a family to stay at your event all day, schedule
a trophy race towards the end of it. We can name the trophy races after sponsors (such as The
Butler Auto Group 500). Sometimes the sponsors want to pay for the race cars so that the kids get
to keep them - this isn't necessary, but it is a nice gesture.
We also do private parties and even birthday parties. Contact us to discuss your options for these
events.
We also attend events as a vendor - we pay a fee to come to your event. We do this to promote the
track, and it works differently than above. We sell the cars, which the kids then get to race a few
times, and every racer gets a small prize.
This summer, we have started holding trophy races at events where we are paying vendors,
however, the car must be purchased in order to participate. We will let any child who purchased a
car at any point during the event participate in the trophy race, even if it is on a different day. This
encourages families to come back to the event on the day of the race.
Our track has an electronic finish line that easily determines the winner, and which adds a new
element to the racing action. Our finish line is custom made from New Directions, and you can visit
their web site by clicking the link at right.
We can race indoors or outside. We have canopies to cover the length of the track, which is 30 feet
long. When we use the canopies, we require a space that is 30 x 10 ft. Indoor spaces can be a
little narrower. If we are racing outside, we must be under a shelter, regardless of weather
conditions. Full sun warps the plastic track, and rain is no good either. We do not require electricity
for daytime events. Night events must be lighted or we will require electricity for our own lighting.
We have received requests for plans to build the track - but, honestly, none exist on paper.
Building and running the track has been a process of imagination, trial and error. We learn
something new at every event that we attend, but we are always a popular attraction.
